Meet Our
Farmers
We partner with local farmers who share our values and want to help bring good honest food to good honest mountain folks.
We know how important it is to know where your food comes from, so we wanted you to meet the farmers and see the farms they tend and the land they care for.
Rancho de
los Proyectos
Rancho de los Proyectos is a two-acre certified organic ranch nestled in the hills of Reche Canyon. The farm is on a thoughtfully planned, zero-waste solar-powered property.
Farmers Erik and Becky work hard to be as resourceful as possible with their little ecosystem. They have a lovely flock of chickens fed only soy and corn-free grains that are laying tasty eggs. Becky shears their flock of sheep annually and hand-dyes the wool using naturally-derived dyes from their garden then spins it into skeins of yarn.
In the garden, they grow an assortment of herbs and have an abundance of fruit trees like pomegranate, lemon, apples, tangerine, plurries (plum-cherry hybrid), nopales, and finger lime (a cool Australian citrus.)
They are currently harvesting tomatoes, peppers, avocados, olives, squash, sweet potatoes, corn, and lemons. The farm also presses essential oils and makes spice blends, rubs, and hot sauces. They put into growing and producing high-quality organics.
We couldn’t find fresher produce farmed closer to the mountain than Hook Creek Farms. They’re a family-owned and operated farm located right here on the San Bernardino Mountains in Cedar Glen.
Since 2008, Hook Creek Farms has been growing some of the freshest organic produce at 6,000 elevation. They’re committed to providing local nourishment to everyone in our mountain community through their passion for growing organic fruits and vegetables.
Hook Creek
Farms
At any given time on their farm, you’ll find them growing Hook Creek micro blend, black sunflower, micro arugula, micro sweet pea, cilantro, beats and too many varieties of other micro greens to name.
Rual and Family Farms sprouted up with one simple idea: growing and selling fresh produce locally. Their produce doesn’t sit on trucks going to faraway lands or warehouses waiting to be distributed to big box stores. It’s delivered to farmer’s markets or directly to you right from their farm.
They work hard each and every day to plant, grow and harvest only the freshest produce.
Rual and
Family Farms
From their founder to their front-line workers, they’re all family. They' put a lot of love and thoughtfulness into everything they do. You’ll definitely be able to taste the different love makes in growing some of the freshest produce in Southern California.
